Today our schools were decked out in a sea of yellow and gold to advocate for Childhood Cancer awareness!🎗️

We appreciate each student, educator, administrator, and employee who supported Hope for Autumn Foundation's Give Hope Day! It was incredibly moving to see our JEFCOED Family stand behind such a meaningful cause. 💛

Campuses throughout our district are already decked out in gold ahead of Give Hope Day tomorrow!🎗️

Be sure to wear gold or yellow on Thursday, September 24, 2026, as we team up with the Hope for Autumn Foundation to raise awareness of childhood cancer and advocate for resources to support patient families.

Give Hope Day hits close to home for many families in our district, and our hearts are with each of you who have a child who has battled cancer or is currently fighting. We stand with you during Childhood Cancer Awareness Month and beyond. 💛

📚✨ What an AMAZING Open House! ✨📚 Tonight was filled with energy, excitement, and an incredible turnout of parents and families! We are so grateful to everyone who came out and made our Open House such a success. ❤️ 🍕 Pizza was served and our entire faculty was truly all hands on deck, working together to welcome and serve our families. 📖 Our Reading Coach and Reading Interventionist tag team did an outstanding job presenting important information about the Alabama Literacy Act, helping our parents better understand how we are supporting our students as readers. 📚 Parents were then dismissed to classrooms to review their students’ work portfolios, celebrate their progress, and see the amazing work taking place in our classrooms. Parents who were unable to attend Meet the Teacher also had a wonderful opportunity to meet their child’s teacher. 🔬 Our STEAM Coordinator provided infographic flyers for families to take home that shared exciting information about our status as a Magnet School. 📕 The Book Fair was also a hit! Parents had the opportunity to purchase books for their children, and our Reading Coach generously provided FREE books for families as well. 🧡💛💚 Bracelets were also on sale to support our Hispanic Heritage Month fundraiser! Thank you to everyone who participated and helped support this special celebration. The excitement in the building was contagious! We are so thankful for our dedicated faculty and staff and, most importantly, for the parents and families who continue to show up, support our school, and partner with us in educating our students. 👏🏽 Thank you for making tonight such a great success! Your presence and participation mean so much to us. We got to see ALL the excitement as students received their assignments, making a commitment to embody the unique and positive qualities of their houses throughout the year! 🎉❤️ We can't wait to see the camaraderie, energy, and growth the house system will generate among the Bears!

Our students have been hard at work learning all about the Zones of Regulation in counseling! 🧠 Our K–2 students got hands-on with play-dough to sculpt and express different emotions, while our 3rd–5th graders put their creativity on display by designing their own Zones posters. A big shoutout to our CARES Specialist, Mrs. Holly, for leading insightful Zones lessons with our 4th and 5th graders! We love seeing our students build such great emotional awareness and self-regulation skills! #ZonesOfRegulation #Counseling
