🍎 Collaborative Excellence at Brighton School!
We are thrilled to share the incredible progress happening behind the scenes at Brighton School!
This week, our leadership team sat down for a powerhouse planning session to strengthen our MTSS (Multi-Tiered System of Supports). Our goal is simple: ensuring every student receives the exact level of support they need to thrive.
We were honored to collaborate with two dedicated experts from the Alabama Reading Initiative (ARI):
⭐️ Jen Joines – Regional Literacy Leadership Specialist (RLLS)
⭐️Stacy Curl – Regional Literacy Specialist (RLS)
By aligning our school structures with ARI’s proven literacy strategies, we are building a foundation for sustainable student success and instructional excellence. When we work together, our students win!❤️🐻⭐️

This week in Counseling, we practiced "Pretzel-verance!" Our character word is perseverance. Our students learned that even when things get knotted up or feel "hard", we have the strength to keep going.
We talked about how mistakes are just part of the recipe for success and that we don't give up just because the task is a bit salty. Watching them tackle challenges with a smile was the best treat of the week!

Rolling Our Way to Reading Success! 🎲📖
Things got a little competitive (and a lot of fun) in Mrs. Colvert’s 2nd Grade class today! The students played "Roll and Read" to master the tricky Long A sound.
They practiced distinguishing between the vowel teams 'ai' and 'ay'—rolling the dice and racing to read and spell words correctly. It’s amazing to see how much faster their fluency grows when learning feels like a game!
Way to go, 2nd graders! Who knew phonics could be this much fun?
