Brooklyn and Harmony are both 9th graders at Gardendale High School, where they're on the Rockettes Dance Team.💃🏻✨ And, fun fact: Brooklyn’s Rising Stars, Aubree Cheek and Hadleigh Anderson, are also members of the JEFCOED family! Aubree attends Bragg Middle School and Hadleigh is a student at Mount Olive Elementary School!

You can cheer on these amazing students this weekend at Thompson High School. Preliminary competitions are Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m., and the finals are set for 2 p.m. Sunday!

Our students were zooming through the Birmingham CrossPlex today!🏃💨 We had a blast seeing our middle and high school Exceptional Education students show off their athleticism and grit on the track! 500 WINS AND COUNTING! ⚾️🎉

Huge congratulations to Mortimer Jordan baseball Coach Shayne Carnes on securing (and surpassing) his 500th career win at MJHS! After reaching this milestone back in February, he has yet to slow down and continues leading his team to success! We are incredibly proud of his dedication to his players and impact on the game.👏

McAdory Middle School’s Black History Month program, “It’s a Different World,” was a stunning celebration of the history, culture, and traditions of Black Americans!

Through their performances, students shared the stories of famous Black inventors, honored the lives of Civil Rights heroes, and celebrated the significance of Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

Seeing these intentional and passionate performances was a true gift. Thank you, McAdory Middle, for such an incredible program!👏

Today we celebrated Career and Technical Education Month by holding our board meeting at Mortimer Jordan High School. During the meeting, Bobby Jackson, our Director of Career and Technical Education, did a phenomenal job sharing the achievements and growth happening within our CTE programs. Our district leaders also had the privilege of enjoying delicious meals prepared and served by Culinary Arts students from Center Point High School, Pinson Valley High School, and Mortimer Jordan High School!

It was a true honor to see our students showcase the valuable skills they’re learning through our CTE Pathways. They are thriving in these programs and will continue to accomplish big things!
