Today, Mortimer Jordan High School color guard seniors visited North Jefferson Middle School's P.E. classes to share the basics of their craft! With each move, students got an inside look at the rhythm, strength, and precision it takes to spin the flag, and were even treated to a special performance at the end of the lesson! 👏

September is Attendance Awareness Month, and we are THRILLED to announce that the JEFCOED Trick-or-Treat Attendance Challenge is back! 👻 🍬

Throughout September, kindergarten through fifth-grade students will compete for the chance to experience the ultimate Halloween field trip! The elementary/intermediate classes with the highest average daily attendance will head to the Board of Education on Friday, October 28, for a day filled with excitement!

Winning classes will:
👻Dress up in costume
🍬Trick-or-treat through the Central Office
🤝Meet Superintendent Dr. Gonsoulin

❤️ Heart Safe and Ready to Respond!❤️ Today, even more JEFCOED staff took an important step toward being prepared when it matters most by becoming CPR certified!👏

Through our partnership with Project ADAM, Jefferson County Schools is a Heart Safe district, with more than 250 AEDs across our schools and facilities. And we're continuing to add more!

Our Central Office staff are now building their own Medical Emergency Response Team (MERT) to help ensure trained responders are ready in the event of a cardiac or other major medical emergency.

We’re proud to celebrate Mr. Bobby Jackson as he prepares to retire after an incredible 29 years with Jefferson County Schools! 👏🎉

Since beginning his career as a vocational teacher at Clay-Chalkville Middle School in 1996, Mr. Jackson has served JEFCOED as a teacher, assistant principal, principal, and, since 2015, Career Tech Director.

His leadership has taken our Career Tech Department to new heights. From building Signature Academies to helping more students earn valuable CTE credentials, his leadership has opened doors for countless students.

Thank you, Mr. Jackson, for 29 years of inspiring excellence, championing new opportunities, and making a lasting difference. We’re grateful you are, and always will be, part of the #JEFCOEDFamily! 💙
