It’s an honor to celebrate our JEFCOED Family members who shine brightly throughout the school year! We want to congratulate all of our JEFCOED Strong Award winners from the second nine weeks and give an extra special congratulations to Ms. Erin Baxter from Irondale Middle School and Ms. Sara Vanderver from Oak Grove High School! Among our Strong Award winners, these two outstanding educators won our district-wide drawing for gift cards!
Please help us celebrate Ms. Baxter and Ms. Vanderver, along with each of our Strong Award winners! These educators make our district a special place!💙

Big accomplishments for OGHS wrestling — winter break was anything but quiet! 🐾🔥
OGHS hosted the Annual Jay Wilks Invitational on Dec. 20 and the Varsity Boys kept the 1st place team trophy at home! Individual placings included Christian Hill (1st), Kellen Mitchell (1st), David Hill (1st), Micah Mobley (4th), Micah Woodman (1st), Luke Wilson (2nd), Ethan Jones (2nd), Rylan Covin (2nd), Brooks Covin (3rd), Cooper Edmondson (3rd), and Kason Yancey (4th).
The Girls competed at the Lady Bearcat Classic (Weaver HS) on Dec. 23 and made a strong showing — Anna Franklin (1st), Rowan Wilson (2nd), Ryleigh Gerrard (2nd), Kenzlee Green (4th). With only four girls competing, they still earned 5th place out of 19 teams! 🙌
At the 2025 Scott Rohrer Invitational (Dec. 29–30) in Hoover, David Hill again took 1st, Kellen Mitchell placed 3rd, Christian Hill 4th, and Ryleigh Gerrard 5th.
Amazing effort from our athletes and coaches — drop a congrats below and tell us which match you loved most! 🏆🥇🥈🥉

The theme for this nine weeks was "Shining through the Seaon," and recognized dedicated employees who inspire others with their positive spirit, enthusiasm, and commitment to making a difference!
Congratulations on this recognition, Ms. Vanderver! It's well deserved! #JEFCOEDStrong #OG4LiFe

OGHS Engineering Academy students took learning beyond the classroom with a behind-the-scenes tour of Sloss Furnaces and experienced history, innovation, and engineering in action, capped off with an unforgettable iron pour. Opportunities like this help connect classroom concepts to real world careers and inspire the next generation of engineers.

School Book Fair — Nov. 17–21
From Monday, November 17 through Friday, November 21, our school will host a Book Fair featuring books and reading accessories tailored for middle school students and older. This is a great opportunity to support literacy, encourage independent reading, and provide students with quality materials.

This free performance begins at 11 a.m. and will feature the talents of middle and high school band members from throughout our district. They’ve been hard at work rehearsing for the big show and are ready to put on an outstanding performance! We hope to see you there!

🔥 It’s a Big Day at Oak Grove! 🐯🏈
Friday is going to be an exciting day at OGHS as we gear up for our first varsity football home playoff game in many years! Here’s everything you need to know ⬇️
🎉 Morning Hype – K-12 Tiger Parade
We’re doing something special instead of a normal pep rally this week! Beginning at 10am Friday, our band, Tigerettes, cheerleaders, and varsity football team will walk parade style to the elementary school so everyone can join in cheering on the Tigers! 🎺🎉
Afterwards, they’ll return to the high school, march through the students, and lead us in some cheers to get game-day ready! 💪
👨👩👧👦 Parents are welcome — please park in the grassy area at the front of the school (not in the bus lane), enter through the main office to sign in as a visitor, and join us behind the band room at 10am!
