In addition to celebrating all of our student of the month nominees, we would also like to recognize all of our perfect attendance students. This month the number increased to 206.




This morning, the Alabama Department of Education approved a resolution recognizing Dr. Walter B. Gonsoulin, Jr. as the 2025 Alabama Superintendent of the Year!! Dr. Gonsoulin serves State School Board Districts Three, Four, and Seven with heart, vision, and determination. We couldn't be prouder of his leadership.

New, we are creating a Majorette team for NJMS for the upcoming school year. There will be a mandatory parent meeting January 30, 2025 at 6pm

MJHS is hosting a Colorguard and Majorette pre clinic. Open to 6th-11th grade. Learn Basic Skills! Tosses! and MORE!!
Our Advanced English classes attended the 12th Night Performance by the Virginia Samford Theater Stars. Two of our students, Prestyn Stephenson & Alexander Wesley, performed in the play.
After the play they were able to visit & get a tour of the Vulcan.






Red Ribbon Week is next week.

Yesterday our 8th grade class had the opportunity to attend Worlds of Work hosted by Central Six Alabama Works and our CTE department. Students explored possible occupations such as STEM; Healthcare & Professional Services; Construction & Utilities; Logistics, Transportation & Public Safety; and Manufacturing & Automotive.
We heard many wonderful complements from the vendors and staff about how well behaved and engaged our students were. Thank you Jefcoed CTE for helping set up this opportunity.
