With cold weather approaching (well already here), we want to help out those in need. Please bring in new or gently used men's, women's, or children's coats to help keep some people warm this winter. We will also take hats, socks, gloves, and scarves. Turn in donations in the bins in Ms. Bullard's classroom.

We have an exciting weekend ahead!🎶👏 You’re invited to our All County Band Festival this Saturday, Nov. 8, 2025, at Gardendale High School!
This free performance begins at 11 a.m. and will feature the talents of middle and high school band members from throughout our district. They’ve been hard at work rehearsing for the big show and are ready to put on an outstanding performance! We hope to see you there!

Congratulations to Connie Clayton, our JEFCOED Strong Award winner for the first nine weeks. She showed up strong, embraced new challenges, and helped set the tone for a winning year.
Connie comes up with and supports others' ideas that help encourage student achievement, growth, and improve overall school culture. She has made signs and hung them in the school to focus student' to do their best on the ACAP. She joins in the faculty dances (even if it's just two or three people) and uses signs and demonstrations to show 6th graders how to participate in pep rallies. She is serious in the classroom and demands effort from her students but she is always in to do something fun or silly! Her enthusiasm, willingness to help, ability to coordinate, and join in all the things not only positively impacts the school and students, but it encourages other teachers to give their ideas a shot and see what happens.
Thank you Connie for all you do!!

Due to the expected very large crowds, we wanted to share some information about the Mortimer Jordan football game tomorrow. We want everyone to enjoy the game, but safety for our students, fans and community are a priority. Information about tomorrow night’s game against Gardendale:
All fans are encouraged to carpool if possible.
Middle school and elementary age students must have an adult with them.
MJHS, NJMS and Elementary feeder pattern students will not be allowed to visit the Gardendale side and Gardendale students will not be allowed to on the Mortimer Jordan side, this does not include the concession stand area.
When students begin to congregate, they will be asked to go to the stands. If students cannot act appropriately they will be asked to sit with their parents. If parents/guardians are not there, they will have to call home.

We appreciate each student who attended our first Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council meeting of the year! During these meetings, student representatives from throughout our district participate in thought-provoking conversations with Dr. Gonsoulin. These discussions are invaluable and allow us to continue growing as a district. Thank you again to everyone who participated!
