We are SO excited to share that the Jefferson County School District has been awarded the Blue Cross Blue Shield Be Healthy Grant for the VERY first time!🎉👏 Mr. Christopher Reeves, Physical Education Supervisor for Jefferson County Schools, says, “This is a meaningful moment for our district, as it reflects the dedication of so many who believe in the power of physical education to shape healthier lives for our students.” Mr. Reeves adds that this grant will provide everything from exercise bikes to agility ladders, benefiting and inspiring students and educators. Reminder that McCalla Elementary will be closed Monday, September 1 for Labor Day. Tuesday, September 2 is an eLearning Day.

You can allow a set amount for your student to spend and anything left over will turn into an electronic gift card that can be used online or added to the next book fair. Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair begins NEXT WEDNESDAY, September 3rd. Students will shop during their regular library class. You can also shop online at https://www.scholastic.com/bf/mccallaelementaryschool1. The best thing you can do is to make a list for your student and set up and eWallet so you don't have to send cash to school.
Our Fall Scholastic Book Fair is right around the corner and we need volunteers. If you have time and would like to volunteer, we would love to have you! You can sign up in 1 hour slots on our Sign-Up Genius page. We will especially need help during Grandparents brunch/lunch on September 4, 5, and 8. Thank you for your support!
