Congratulations to our February Students of the Month! We showed others how to work together as a team to make good things happen at McCalla.

Next week is Read Across America and we are in our Patriotic Era! Help us celebrate 250 years of America as we read across our great nation. We will share a list of read alouds for each day next week that you can share with your family.

We are excited to share that several of our talented students have had their artwork accepted into the 2025-2026 Virtual Art Competition of Alabama! This is a huge accomplishment and a wonderful recognition of their creativity and hard work. Winners will receive a congratulatory letter from the Alabama Art Education Association President and a Visual Arts Competition of Alabama certificate. Our Fine Arts Night has been a success! Thank you to the families who came out to support our students, the food trucks who came out to feed us, and the talented students who provided art and entertainment for the night.

Each framed masterpiece is $35 and can be purchased online or in person. Every purchase directly supports our school’s art program and helps provide additional resources for our students.

Last week we celebrated our 2nd-5th grade students for their progress and achievement on their mid-year testing. Students were recognized for making benchmark in M-Class testing, as well as growing their iReady scores by 25, 50, 75, or 100 points. Our Yellowjackets are working hard to meet their annual and stretch growth goals by the end of the year!
