Last week we celebrated our 2nd-5th grade students for their progress and achievement on their mid-year testing. Students were recognized for making benchmark in M-Class testing, as well as growing their iReady scores by 25, 50, 75, or 100 points. Our Yellowjackets are working hard to meet their annual and stretch growth goals by the end of the year!

#GoodThingsHappening!💙 We are thrilled to share that more than two dozen JEFCOED schools earned the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR Certification! To earn this honor, these schools had to have an ENERGY STAR score of at least 75, meaning they run at least 75% more efficiently than similar buildings across the country.

In recognition of their commitment to energy conservation and sustainability, Superintendent Dr. Walter Gonsoulin and representatives from Cenergistic presented 27 of our schools with awards and certificates at this week’s board meeting! Please help us congratulate the following schools:

The 2026 McCalla Elementary Student Fine Arts Night is just one month away! Join us on February 11th, 2026, from 4:30–6:30 PM in the gymnasium as we celebrate the incredible artistic achievements of our PreK–5th grade students.

Enjoy live performances from our school choir, followed by our theater club showcase. Student artwork will be on display and available for purchase both in person and online. Our online Art Show will be live from January 26th through February 15th, giving families plenty of time to view and purchase artwork from anywhere. Several food trucks will also be on site, so come hungry and ready to celebrate creativity!

Congratulations to our December Students of the Month! December was all about making a difference in someone's day, no matter how big or small.

We will also have several food trucks available during art night. Bring the family and enjoy the show!

The 2026 McCalla Elementary School Student Fine Arts Night is just one month away! It will be held on February 11th, 2026 from 4:30–6:30 PM in the Gymnasium! Congratulations to Mrs. Ruth Merinar, McCalla Elementary's JEFCOED Strong Teacher for the 2nd 9 weeks. Mrs. Merinar is a shining example of service and kindness, always helping others with a smile! Thank you for all you do for us at McCalla!

Don't forget Hat Day this Friday, December 5th. $1 to wear your favorite holiday hat. All proceeds benefit the PE Dept. to purchase athletic equipment and supplies.
