Happy Digital Citizenship Week from JCIB! 6th graders are learning about online safety and how to protect themselves from phishing attempts. They embraced some unique techniques to protect their passwords during the game Crypto Hack!
Check out a few ways to empower our students to be safe online by embracing our IB learner profile traits:
💻Use Privacy Settings (be reflective and knowledgeable): Encourage reflection by discussing privacy settings with your tweens/teens. Help them become knowledgeable about what info they share and why.
📱Read the Fine Print (be inquirers & thinkers): Foster inquiry by exploring app privacy policies together. Use critical thinking to understand data collection and usage.
🔍Spot Online Scams (be open-minded & communicators): Share scam experiences and practice open-mindedness. Enhance communication skills by identifying scam signs like poor grammar and fake logos.
💵Know How Tech Makes Money (be principled & balanced): Research how platforms earn money together. Encourage principled decisions to limit data sharing while maintaining a balanced online presence.

Wear your most "out of this world" attire tomorrow! JCIB Peer Helpers are reminding our students how to respect personal SPACE with this outer space themed dress up day. Here are a few ways to respect personal space:
🪐Stand back when talking to someone
💫Don't read over someone's shoulder
🚀Don't touch another person's things
👽Don't touch someone you don't know
☄️Don't walk too closely to someone
Please make sure that all outfits are within dress code.
