We are so proud of the three delegations who recently represented JCIB middle school at the Junior United Nations Assembly 2026, in Oxford, Alabama. The three teams this year represented Azerbaijan, Dominican Republic, and Ireland. All three delegations did a fantastic job, and Ireland’s resolution passed at General Assembly. Ireland also won an award for Best Native Dress, and Azerbaijan delegate, Jackson Albright, was awarded an Honorable mention for Best Boy Delegate.

September 8th-12th marks National Suicide Prevention Week, an annual campaign to educate the general public about suicide prevention and the warning signs of suicide. In acknowledgement of the prevention awareness week, we will have a spirit week for students to participate in, if they would like. Please see the attached flyer for the dates and theme of each day next week. September is Suicide Prevention Awareness Month—a time to raise awareness, promote hope, and normalize help-seeking. Suicide affects millions of people every year, yet too many struggle in silence. Whether you’re facing challenges, supporting a friend or loved one, or are looking to help, your voice matters. This month is dedicated to recognizing the warning signs for suicide, encouraging open conversations about mental health, and connecting people to proven treatment and resources. When we stand together in strength, dignity, hope, and purpose, we can make a difference—we can help save lives. (Source: Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration SAMHSA https://www.samhsa.gov/about/digital-toolkits/suicide-prevention-month) As a reminder anyone in need of support can always call or text 988 for the Crisis Lifeline.
