Today is School Custodian Appreciation Day, and we hope you'll join us in celebrating our outstanding custodians here at JEFCOED!🎉
These heroes not only ensure students and teachers spend their days in clean, safe environments, but also spread positivity throughout their schools. We appreciate all they do to help our district thrive! When you see your school custodian today, be sure to tell them thank you!

We are SO excited to share that the Jefferson County School District has been awarded the Blue Cross Blue Shield Be Healthy Grant for the VERY first time!🎉👏 Mr. Christopher Reeves, Physical Education Supervisor for Jefferson County Schools, says, “This is a meaningful moment for our district, as it reflects the dedication of so many who believe in the power of physical education to shape healthier lives for our students.” Mr. Reeves adds that this grant will provide everything from exercise bikes to agility ladders, benefiting and inspiring students and educators. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Our Back to School Conference is in the books!📚 We want to give a huge thank you to our educators and administrators for making today such a success! It is a Book Blast Celebration! Mrs. Young had an awesome time partnering with Books R Fun to help build our student's home libraries. In the spirit of fostering reading, Book Blast did not disappoint! Every student at HIS received at least one book or more to build their home reading collection.

Mrs. Young and our HIS 3rd Grade Scholars welcomed Janice Rogers from WBRC 6 News today to do a read aloud! We had a fantastic time with Janice Rogers!

Happy Administrative Professionals Week to our AMAZING front office staff! Mrs. Becca, Mrs. Shelly, and Ms. Crystal. We LOVE you all and thank you for everything that you do for us here at HIS!

When you're family🏠 ... Hueytown Intermediate recently celebrated House Day by officially sorting Superintendent Dr. Gonsoulin into one of their six houses. With a spin of the wheel, he became a proud member of Reveur—a house for dreamers who pursue their goals with passion. Sounds like the perfect fit, right?
The Hueytown Intermediate family also celebrated Dr. G's achievement as National Superintendent of the Year! They cheered, danced, and gave him a special banner to mark the occasion.
Dr. G is honored to be part of the Hueytown Intermediate family and couldn't be prouder of the students and staff who make this school such a special place.👏💙
GREAT JOB to all students who completed their Treasure Map on Day 1! These are some of our students that were eligible to receive a Book Blast Prize Box today! For the students who did not have a chance to complete their Treasure Map, you still have time. But do it tonight - because tomorrow we have our first prize drawing! You don't want to miss out!
