We are SO excited to share that the Jefferson County School District has been awarded the Blue Cross Blue Shield Be Healthy Grant for the VERY first time!🎉👏 Mr. Christopher Reeves, Physical Education Supervisor for Jefferson County Schools, says, “This is a meaningful moment for our district, as it reflects the dedication of so many who believe in the power of physical education to shape healthier lives for our students.” Mr. Reeves adds that this grant will provide everything from exercise bikes to agility ladders, benefiting and inspiring students and educators. This morning, the School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA) and Curriculum Associates presented senior Makyiah Kelley with a $1,000 scholarship to assist her in pursuing a college degree in one of the most admirable and impactful professions—teaching. Makyiah was chosen by Dr. Gonsoulin and Dr. Dallas for demonstrating academic excellence and a deep passion for shaping the future through education. Even more inspiring is her commitment to stay right here in Alabama to make a difference in the lives of local students. Makyiah will begin this journey at Jacksonville State University. We can't wait to see her pour into the next generation of learners! 🎉Congratulations, Makyiah!
Please join us in congratulating these seniors who have obtained their Health Science credentials: Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). We also have 6 students who are now dual credentialed! All of these students will receive their White Coats at the county-wide ceremony next week. CCHS has 56 students this year who were able to pass these very rigorous tests, and we want to let them know how proud we are of them! Congratulations to all of you! We know how hard you worked to earn this!
Last week CCHS held the Cubby Awards. This is a favorite tradition for students and staff alike. Students vote for each category to recognize their classmates and teachers.
