“This is where everything started for me”: Houston Texans wide receiver and Clay-Chalkville graduate, Nico Collins, spent the weekend giving back at his alma mater!🏈👏
He hosted a free football camp for kids and teens in our area. These young athletes not only learned skills they can use on the football field, but also built confidence as they trained alongside Nico and experienced coaches!

This morning, the School Superintendents of Alabama (SSA) and Curriculum Associates presented senior Makyiah Kelley with a $1,000 scholarship to assist her in pursuing a college degree in one of the most admirable and impactful professions—teaching. Makyiah was chosen by Dr. Gonsoulin and Dr. Dallas for demonstrating academic excellence and a deep passion for shaping the future through education. Even more inspiring is her commitment to stay right here in Alabama to make a difference in the lives of local students. Makyiah will begin this journey at Jacksonville State University. We can't wait to see her pour into the next generation of learners! 🎉Congratulations, Makyiah!

Please join us in congratulating these seniors who have obtained their Health Science credentials: Certified Patient Care Technician (CPCT) and Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT). We also have 6 students who are now dual credentialed! All of these students will receive their White Coats at the county-wide ceremony next week. CCHS has 56 students this year who were able to pass these very rigorous tests, and we want to let them know how proud we are of them! Congratulations to all of you! We know how hard you worked to earn this!
Last week CCHS held the Cubby Awards. This is a favorite tradition for students and staff alike. Students vote for each category to recognize their classmates and teachers. This year's theme was Gatsby! Students and teachers showed up in their best '20s attire. Here are some highlights from the night in case you missed it!
