Happy Thanksgiving, JEFCOED Family!💙 We appreciate all you do to make our district a special place!

History made at Shades Valley!🤼♀️🎉 Let’s hear it for Heather Butler, the first student in school history to place in a girls wrestling event! During Battle in the Burg, Heather had a stellar performance and, with three 1st period pins, went on to win 1st place! We congratulate Heather on this major achievement and can’t wait to see what she continues to accomplish this season!

There’s nothing better than stadium tours and ice cream stops!🍦
North Jefferson Middle School’s FBLA students (Future Business Leaders of America) recently toured Protective Stadium, where they learned about careers in sports management. Students also visited RedCar Ice Cream and Coffee, which is owned by NJMS alum Alexis Pettis! From small business ownership to sports management and beyond, these students are learning just how many opportunities the business world offers, and we appreciate everyone who has shared their experiences!

During National Career Development Month, Self-Contained students at Hueytown High School had an exciting chance to learn about possible career paths!💜🏥 Students visited the new UAB Medical West Hospital in McCalla, where they toured the facility and heard all about potential employment opportunities.
Thank you to UAB Medical West, ADRS, and Equip for making this possible!

4th graders at Johnson Elementary School recently enjoyed an exciting trip to Rickwood Caverns State Park! They spent the day in nature, exploring stalagmites and stalactites, seeing ancient fossils up close, and learning all about the ecosystems and geological history of the caverns!
This experience brought learning to life, and we're so glad these students were able to take part in such a fascinating field trip!🚌🤩

We have so much to be grateful for here at JEFCOED!💙 Today, our Central Office Building was filled with joy as employees gathered for wonderful conversations and delicious food.
