During Thanksgiving and beyond, we are incredibly grateful for our JEFCOED family!💙 We hope next week is filled with plenty of family time, delicious food, and wonderful memories. We have so much to be grateful for here at JEFCOED!💙 Today, our Central Office Building was filled with joy as employees gathered for wonderful conversations and delicious food. Getting to spend quality time with our coworkers is a gift, and we greatly appreciate the Jefferson County Schools Education Foundation for sponsoring our Thanksgiving lunch! We also want to give a special shout-out to our volunteers who helped set up, serve food, and clean! You all made the day so special and we appreciate your efforts!










We are honored to share that the Jefferson County Commission presented our district with a check for more than $6.6 million at today’s commission meeting!
This is part of the commission’s annual $18 million allocation to local school boards. The amount distributed is based on the number of students in each district.

Clemon Elementary School's Student Lighthouse Team and Peer Helpers volunteered with Grace Klein Community, a nonprofit organization that provides resources to those in need here at home and globally. Jeffrey was recognized for comforting the son of Pelham’s head football coach after an emotional loss in the playoffs. Jeffrey’s genuine kindness sets a positive example for us all, and it warms our hearts to see his character recognized!

For the last couple of weeks, students in our Exceptional Education classes have been showing off their bowling skills at Oak Mountain Lanes!🎳🥇
Our elementary, middle, and high school students all had the chance to compete alongside their classmates and friends during the tournaments!
Today we caught up with students from the Burkett Center and Mortimer Jordan High School as they participated in the final day of the tournament. These students proved their athleticism on the lanes while also making fun memories with their friends!
We want to say a special thank you to Oak Mountain Lanes for hosting our tournament, as well as KultureCity for providing resources to meet students’ sensory needs!

During the elementary meeting, students met with Dr. Gonsoulin and worked in groups, sharing their favorite things about their schools, as well as what could make them cleaner, safer, and more welcoming.
Our middle and high school students also worked in groups and discussed educational opportunities. Topics included what educational opportunities they find useful, which ones students participate in the most, and how we can communicate future opportunities.
These discussions are incredibly valuable and help us shape the future of our district! We sincerely thank our participants for sharing!👏
