Corner High School brought holiday cheer to a whole new level today!❄️🎄
Exceptional Education students from throughout our district had a blast at Jingle Bell Rock! Students met Santa and elves, raced through obstacle courses with the Grinch, enjoyed indoor snowball fights, and much, much more! So many wonderful memories were created today, and we sincerely appreciate Corner’s student and staff volunteers, along with the Exceptional Education Department, for making this fun event possible.🎉
We also want to say a big thank you to Hueytown High School, which hosted its Jingle Bell Rock earlier this week! These events bring our students so much joy, and that makes us JEFCOED Proud!💙

This week, kindergartners at Irondale Community School took an exciting trip to the Christmas tree farm! Classes went on hay rides, played on tire swings, and even got to pick out a tree for their classrooms!

McAdory High School’s Culinary Arts 2 class recently hosted MHS faculty and guests from the board for a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving luncheon! These students are incredibly talented, and we thank them for sharing their skills! Following the luncheon, the floral arrangements you see on the tables, created by FCCLA and HOSA students, were delivered to a local retirement community!💐 The creativity and kindness shown through this project inspire us greatly. Great job, McAdory!

History made at Shades Valley!🤼♀️🎉 Let’s hear it for Heather Butler, the first student in school history to place in a girls wrestling event! During Battle in the Burg, Heather had a stellar performance and, with three 1st period pins, went on to win 1st place! We congratulate Heather on this major achievement and can’t wait to see what she continues to accomplish this season!

Students also visited RedCar Ice Cream and Coffee, which is owned by NJMS alum Alexis Pettis! From small business ownership to sports management and beyond, these students are learning just how many opportunities the business world offers, and we appreciate everyone who has shared their experiences!

During National Career Development Month, Self-Contained students at Hueytown High School had an exciting chance to learn about possible career paths!💜🏥 Students visited the new UAB Medical West Hospital in McCalla, where they toured the facility and heard all about potential employment opportunities.

4th graders at Johnson Elementary School recently enjoyed an exciting trip to Rickwood Caverns State Park! They spent the day in nature, exploring stalagmites and stalactites, seeing ancient fossils up close, and learning all about the ecosystems and geological history of the caverns!
This experience brought learning to life, and we're so glad these students were able to take part in such a fascinating field trip!🚌🤩
