Hueytown High School Career Tech students pampered Board of Education employees with an unforgettable Day of Relaxation before the holiday rush! 💆🏻‍♀️🧖🏻‍♀️✨🌿 Cosmetology students showcased their skills by offering manicures💅, as well as hand, foot, and neck massages. Meanwhile, culinary arts students catered for the event, providing delicious treats and beverages to enjoy during our services.👩🏽‍🍳🍴 Thank you to these fantastic students and their instructors for bringing relaxation and joy to the Jefferson County Board of Education.

This morning, the Alabama Department of Education approved a resolution recognizing Dr. Walter B. Gonsoulin, Jr. as the 2025 Alabama Superintendent of the Year!! Dr. Gonsoulin serves State School Board Districts Three, Four, and Seven with heart, vision, and determination. We couldn't be prouder of his leadership. Congratulations, Dr. Gonsoulin! We are deeply saddened to share the passing of Mr. Charles M. Burkett, a beloved principal of Corner High School from 1974-1991. His legacy of leadership extended beyond the classroom, as he also proudly served our nation for 25 years in the United States Navy and United States Air Force. We extend our heartfelt condolences to Mr. Burkett’s family, friends, and all those whose lives he impacted.
