Students and Jefferson County Schools Superintendent stand together outside the new Auto Tech Building at Shades Valley High School for a ribbon cutting ceremony.

Jefferson County Schools commemorated the completion of the new state-of-the-art Automotive Technology Center at Shades Valley High School on Monday.

Jefferson County Schools Superintendent Dr. Walter Gonsoulin, Career and Technical Education Director Bobby Jackson, and JEFCOED Auto Tech students were among those who participated in Monday’s Ribbon Cutting Ceremony.

The Auto Tech program, which will be housed in this new facility, is a JEFCOED Signature Academy, meaning this new building will serve students from Shades Valley High School, as well as our two other Eastern Zone Schools, Clay-Chalkville High School and Pinson Valley High School. Current and future students will be able to take courses in two different pathways - Auto Maintenance and Collision Repair.

We are thrilled to see these students continue learning and fine-tuning their automotive skills in this brand new facility, and sincerely thank each person who helped turn this vision into a reality.
