Q. I'm not sure if I have a PowerSchool Parent Portal Account. How can I find out?

A. Contact your child(ren)'s school(s) or the JEFCOED Registration Help Desk at 205-379-2269. A staff member can look up your student(s) to see if you have an account, and can assist you with retrieving your username and resetting your password.

Q. I used the PowerSchool Parent Portal during the school year to see my child's grades, but now I cannot log in. Who can help me?

A. Contact your child(ren)'s school(s) or the JEFCOED Registration Help Desk at 205-379-2269. A staff member can look up your student(s) to see if you have an account, and can assist you with retrieving your username and resetting your password

Q. I was able to log in and register my child with a snapcode in previous years, but now I cannot log in to registration. What should I do?

A. To register under the new system, you'll need a PowerSchool Parent Portal Account. The account is different from the one you used for registration with a snapcode. Click on one of the links below to find instructions on how to create your PowerSchool Parent Portal account.

Q. Can I complete student registration through the PowerSchool mobile app on my smartphone?

A. The mobile app cannot be used for registration. You must complete the registration process using the PowerSchool Public Portal via a web browser on a computer or smartphone, such as Safari, Chrome, Edge, or Firefox.

Q. How do I get the access code and password for my child(ren)?

A. The access code and passcode needed to link your child(ren) to your Parent Portal account were on the end-of-year report card from your child(ren)'s school(s). Please contact your child(ren)'s school(s) or the JEFCOED Registration Help Desk at 205-379-2269 if you need the codes.

*Note: Each child has a unique access code and password that the parent enters inside their Parent Portal account.

Q. Do I need a different PowerSchool account for each child?

A. All returning students can be connected to one parent account. If you have more than one returning student, an access code and password is provided for each child.

However, if you also have a new student enrolling in Jefferson County Schools, you will need to create a new account for PowerSchool Enrollment, in addition to the PowerSchool Parent Portal account.

Q. I've already created a PowerSchool Parent Portal account and need to add all of my children. How do I add more students?

Q. What do I do if I forget my parent account password?

A.  At the login screen, click the Forgot Username or Password link at the bottom of the window.  When prompted, enter your e-mail address to receive a link to your email inbox to set a new password.
