Today we celebrated Career and Technical Education Month by holding our board meeting at Mortimer Jordan High School. During the meeting, Bobby Jackson, our Director of Career and Technical Education, did a phenomenal job sharing the achievements and growth happening within our CTE programs. Our district leaders also had the privilege of enjoying delicious meals prepared and served by Culinary Arts students from Center Point High School, Pinson Valley High School, and Mortimer Jordan High School!

It was a true honor to see our students showcase the valuable skills they’re learning through our CTE Pathways. They are thriving in these programs and will continue to accomplish big things!

The impressive routines featured during this year’s Magic City Dance Off were full of energy, spirit, and creativity! Our Exceptional Education students and peer helpers pulled out all the stops for the competition, with some wearing elaborate costumes or even performing multi-part routines! 🕺👏


🥇Hueytown Middle School took home first place in the middle school division with their vibrant performance to “I Got That Rhythm!"


🥇Clay-Chalkville High School took home first place in the high school division for the 5th consecutive year!! They performed an elaborate routine (complete with several costume changes) to a mashup of cartoon theme songs!

National Signing Day celebrations continue! 🎉 We’re thrilled to recognize more student-athletes taking their talents to the next level. Yesterday, Christian Thomas and Maurice Allen from Pinson Valley High School officially committed to Tuskegee University to continue their academic and athletic careers!

Congratulations also to Kaden Edwards, who signed with the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga football program during the December early signing period!

#GoodThingsHappening!💙 We are thrilled to share that more than two dozen JEFCOED schools earned the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR Certification! To earn this honor, these schools had to have an ENERGY STAR score of at least 75, meaning they run at least 75% more efficiently than similar buildings across the country.

From start to finish, yesterday was filled with lively Hispanic Heritage Month celebrations in Pinson!🎶👑 The festivities began with La Srta. Quinceañera pageant, where contestants graced the stage in beautiful gowns and spoke from the heart during the onstage interview portion. We want to congratulate Arlete Granados Zamora, the newly crowned Srta. Quinceañera, as well as all of the finalists and contestants—each of you did an amazing job! The excitement continued into the evening with Pinson’s Hispanic Heritage Festival, where families from every school in the Pinson feeder pattern came together to enjoy entertaining performances, delicious meals, fun crafts, and more! We truly appreciate everyone who made these special events possible!
