Tonight, families from Gardendale Elementary School and Snow Rogers Elementary School came together to celebrate the beautiful music, culture, and traditions that make Hispanic heritage so special! ❤️✨

We applaud Pinson Valley High School’s Mariachi Band and Snow Rogers Elementary School’s choir for putting on an amazing show, and thank each family that attended, as well as each individual who organized this event! Amazing things happen when our local schools gather as one! 🎉

Inspiring the next generation of special effects artists! 🧑‍🎨

Rudd Middle School students recently had the exciting opportunity to visit Pinson Valley High School's Special Effects Signature Academy! They got to explore the planning, creativity, and detailed craftsmanship our special effects students put into each mask, prop, and sculpture.

This visit not only allowed middle schoolers to see the unique educational opportunities available to them in high school, but also gave them a look at potential career paths in the arts. We hope they felt as inspired as we do each time we walk through the FX classroom!

This morning, students, community leaders, and JEFCOED Superintendent Dr. Walter Gonsoulin gathered at Shades Valley High School to remember the lives changed forever on September 11, 2001.

The annual 9/11 Memorial Ceremony, presented by the Shades Valley MCJROTC, brought together JROTC students from Shades Valley, Pinson Valley, and Clay-Chalkville high schools for a heartfelt and touching ceremony. Through the presentation of the colors, moving speeches, and the laying of flowers, they honored the heroes of 9/11 and those who continue to serve our nation.
