Pinson Valley High School student, Allison Ruiz-Apolinar brought her knowledge of Microsoft programs to the national stage. She represented Alabama in the 2025 Microsoft Office Specialist U.S. National Championship, where she competed for scholarships, prizes, and the national title.
While taking Mrs. Volk’s Business Software Applications class, Allison excelled in her studies of Microsoft programs.
Mrs. Volk said Allison was so far ahead that she encouraged her to take the Excel certification exam, which she passed with a perfect score in just 14 minutes. Mrs. Volk said she even outpaced two college students!
Allison was named Alabama’s State Champion during the Spring Qualifier because of her performance on the exam, which secured her spot in the national competition.
