#GoodThingsHappening!💙 We are thrilled to share that more than two dozen JEFCOED schools earned the Environmental Protection Agency's ENERGY STAR Certification! To earn this honor, these schools had to have an ENERGY STAR score of at least 75, meaning they run at least 75% more efficiently than similar buildings across the country.

In recognition of their commitment to energy conservation and sustainability, Superintendent Dr. Walter Gonsoulin and representatives from Cenergistic presented 27 of our schools with awards and certificates at this week’s board meeting! Please help us congratulate the following schools:

Amazing things happen when our students work together!💙 McAdory High School’s Culinary Arts 2 class recently hosted MHS faculty and guests from the board for a WONDERFUL Thanksgiving luncheon! These students are incredibly talented, and we thank them for sharing their skills! Following the luncheon, the floral arrangements you see on the tables, created by FCCLA and HOSA students, were delivered to a local retirement community!💐 The creativity and kindness shown through this project inspire us greatly. We appreciate each student who attended our first Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council meeting of the year! We are SO excited to share that the Jefferson County School District has been awarded the Blue Cross Blue Shield Be Healthy Grant for the VERY first time!🎉👏 Mr. Christopher Reeves, Physical Education Supervisor for Jefferson County Schools, says, “This is a meaningful moment for our district, as it reflects the dedication of so many who believe in the power of physical education to shape healthier lives for our students.” Mr. Reeves adds that this grant will provide everything from exercise bikes to agility ladders, benefiting and inspiring students and educators.
