Please help us congratulate the gifted classes at Fultondale Elementary and Johnson Elementary schools on winning the 2026 Best Environmental Education Project in Alabama! 🏆
These 5th graders were recognized by the Environmental Education Association of Alabama for their “Waste Not, Want Not Sustainability” initiative. Led by Ms. Shelia Hill and Ms. Rushton Feagin, students collaborated with experts to address real-world issues—from designing rehabilitation blueprints for the Alabama Bobwhite quail to launching a community fruit tree garden!🌳
These students and educators are actively making our world a better, more sustainable place, and we applaud their work! Way to go! 🌟

Every year Kermit Johnson Elementary School creates cards for the military as an act of kindness. This year, our very own U.S. Marine, Principal Jermaine Howard, made this activity even more meaningful. Approximately 700 cards offering encouragement and thanks are on their way to the U.S. Marine Corp base at Twentynine Palms, CA.

Tomorrow is an E-Learning Day. Students will not report to campus.

Honoring Black History Month through the arts!🎭🎨
Johnson Elementary School’s Black History Month Program served as a beautiful tribute to Black artists and musicians. Students participated in a play that honored the influences of African-American music and paid tribute to artists like Aretha Franklin, The Supremes, Nat King Cole, and Michael Jackson!
Each grade level also completed art projects for Black History Month that were displayed throughout the school. From start to finish, this event was a lovely celebration of Black artists, and we appreciate each individual who made it possible!
