Congratulations to our Science Olympiad team for winning the Jefferson County championship this past weekend! Thanks to Mr. Reardon for his leadership of this group!

As we wrap up National School Counseling Week, we're grateful for the counselors across our district who show up every day for our students! They support, encourage, and advocate with passion, bringing tremendous heart to our schools. We're so thankful for you🫶!

Congratulations to our arts and literary magazine Counterpane! JCIB was again awarded the designation as a First Class Publication by the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE)! This designation was only awarded to 135 of the 456 magazines submitted from universities and high schools. Thanks to Mrs. Sport for her leadership of this group.

Congratulations to the faculty and students of JCIB for earning the Platinum Honor Roll again this year. This is the highest honor a school can recieve from the College Board AP Program!
JCIB had 100% of seniors who took at least one AP Exam during high school, 100% of seniors scoring a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, and47% of seniors who took five or more AP Exams!
JCIB has always embraced a 'college-going culture' and we will continue to ensure that our students are more than prepared for success at the university level.

It's School Board Recognition Month! 🍎 Please join us in honoring our board members for their commitment to students, service to our community, and championship-level leadership. We simply could not achieve what we do without your support!

Our first ever JCIB Prom is coming this spring! Tickets will go on sale starting January 9 and are $85 per person.

Giving Tree Results
We are so blessed with the generosity and kindness of our students and their families. This year the Giving Tree has had record setting donations. We had 521 individual items which probably translated to more than 500 lbs. of food. Mr. Lightsey came and picked it up and delivered it to a local food bank on Wednesday. I am so proud of these young people, but the winners of the 2025 Giving Tree are the Juniors. They are small, but mighty. We are so proud of their ability to come together and knock it out of the park. Thank you to all the parents who reminded them to bring something for the tree. I can't wait to see what we do next year. Enjoy your babies over the break - they are kind and giving and loved here at IB.

This meeting is for all students interested in taking part in the 2026-2027 student exchange with our sister school in Wuppertal, Germany. We will cover introduction of our sister school, expectations, tentative costs and tentative timeline. This program is for ALL students, not just students taking German. If you are remotely interested, you should take part in the webex. Here is the link for the webex link . This is an amazing opportunity to share our culture with students from across the globe. Hope to see you there!

Our GirlSpring club is sponsoring a feminine product drive now through the end of the semester. Donations of items may be placed in boxes around the school and eligible students may also earn Beta Club hours. Thanks to Ms. Mauldin for sponsoring this event!

Giving Tree
Our annual food drive will begin on December 1 and run through December 17. This food drive pits the classes against each other to see which class can bring the most. Each grade will have three days to bring as many non-perishable items as they can and place them on the giving tree by the office. At the end of the allotted time, we will count their items and clear the tree for the next class. Each class will be assigned items that will earn them double points (see the flyer for more information), but all non-perishable items are welcome. The winning class will have their class year added to the back of the star on the giving tree and receive a special treat after Christmas. We did an amazing job with our blitz, let's see if we can do even better this time. Thanks for all your support.

We know that to be global minded starts where we are. We also know that many of our neighbors will need some extra help with food over the next few weeks. With that in mind we are going to have a Pantry Raid Blitz and ask every student and teacher to bring 2 non-perishable items over the course of two days and then take it to a local food pantry. We will set up boxes and a table in front of the office for students to drop off their food. We will still have the giving tree in December, but this is a way we can help meet an immediate need.

Join us Tuesday night at 5:30 for our parent and student engagement meeting. Join us to learn, ask questions, and strengthen our partnership for student success.

Congratulations to Becca Bynum, Willow Barkley, Peyton Arnold, Lauren Graham, Cori Crawford, and Baleigh Bennett who participated in the Jax State Writer's Bowl! Their writing team won first in the prose competition, third in the poetry competition, and first in the overall team competition. There were hundreds of writers there today, so this is a huge accomplishment!
All the students enjoyed working together and being creative. Thanks to Mrs. Sport for organizing this trip.

We appreciate each student who attended our first Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council meeting of the year! During these meetings, student representatives from throughout our district participate in thought-provoking conversations with Dr. Gonsoulin. These discussions are invaluable and allow us to continue growing as a district. Thank you again to everyone who participated!
