Please help us congratulate the new principal of Jefferson County International Baccalaureate School, Dr. Michael Cloninger!
Dr. Cloninger earned his Bachelor of Science in Education from Jacksonville State University and a Master of Arts in Education from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He also obtained a Post-Master Credential in Educational Leadership from the University of West Alabama. Most recently, Dr. Cloninger graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Educational Leadership. He is now entering his 17th year in education.
Prior to becoming an administrator with JCIB, Dr. Cloninger taught a variety of social science courses in the Jefferson County School System. He also served as JCIB's first Middle Years Programme Coordinator, guiding the school from the candidacy phase through its successful authorization as an IB MYP World School.
With over a decade of experience at the school, he is deeply committed to serving every student and family that walks through its doors. Dr. Cloninger looks forward to building on the rich legacy of JCIB, moving the program to new heights, and partnering with families for a successful school year ahead.
Outside of his administrative role, Dr. Cloninger enjoys spending time with his wife and four children. Together, they love outdoor adventures, retro video game nights, and just about anything else—as long as they are together.
Congratulations, Dr. Cloninger! We are thrilled to see you take on this new role!
