Dr. Watkins holds up the book "First Day Jitters" and sits in front of a book shelf.

As the first day of school approaches, many students may be experiencing a mix of excitement and nervousness. To help ease those "first day jitters," Jefferson County Schools is sharing a new edition of our JEFCOED Storybook Adventures series.

In this episode, Dr. Angela Watkins, Director of Elementary Curriculum and Instruction, reads First Day Jitters. This story reminds students they are not alone in feeling nervous about the new school year. Dr. Watkins also provides some tips to help children feel more comfortable and confident as they step into their classrooms.

We invite families to watch this special read-aloud together and start the school year with encouragement and positivity!
