Alabama educators are equipping every child for every chance, every day.

First grade had a little fun yesterday with the 67th day of school and the whole 6-7 trend. They completed number bonds and equations where the parts were the same as the number 6 or 7 and we read a story where the numbers 6 or 7 kept occurring. The students had a lot of fun while the teachers embraced it (for at least one day). 🤣

Our Alabama teachers are more than just educators. They’re counselors,
coaches, mentors, and friends, and they are pivotal in shaping those who
are the future of our state.

Please join us Monday, November 10th at 6:00pm in the Bryan Elementary School gym. The 3rd grade classes will be presenting a program to honor our veterans. All participating 3rd graders should be at school at 5:45.
If you are a veteran, or currently serving in the military, we would LOVE to have you in attendance! Thank you for all you do for our country!

The 6th annual Alabama State Department of Education's Thank Alabama Teachers Month
begins on November 1, 2025!

Emily Hutto from Jefferson County Greenway visited third grade this morning and brought some of her friends that are native to Alabama. Students got to meet a millipede, a salamander, a box turtle, and a rat snake. We enjoyed learning about these animals today!

A fun day of learning about the human body for first grade? It's just what the doctor ordered!

Red Ribbon Week is next week!

A teacher inflatable race is just the thing to PUMP UP our students for learning!

Coming soon!

Congratulations, Mrs. Brasher!

BIG thanks to the Kimberly Fire Department for showing us their fire truck and teaching us about fire safety!

Don't forget -- recipe submissions are due THIS FRIDAY!

We appreciate each student who attended our first Superintendent’s Student Advisory Council meeting of the year! During these meetings, student representatives from throughout our district participate in thought-provoking conversations with Dr. Gonsoulin. These discussions are invaluable and allow us to continue growing as a district. Thank you again to everyone who participated!

Today is School Custodian Appreciation Day, and we hope you'll join us in celebrating our outstanding custodians here at JEFCOED!🎉
These heroes not only ensure students and teachers spend their days in clean, safe environments, but also spread positivity throughout their schools. We appreciate all they do to help our district thrive! When you see your school custodian today, be sure to tell them thank you!

Our homecoming pep rally was so much fun! Big thanks to the MJHS band and cheerleaders!

First grade is learning about plants and have planted seeds (Lima beans). On Friday, Mrs. Wakefield read the book, The World’s BEST Class Plant, to all of the first graders! She also donated a spider plant (from her own spider plant) to each first grade classroom. The spider plant is known for producing “babies” or spiders. The students will help to care for the spider plant with hopes that by the end of the school year there will be enough spiderettes for each student to carry home!
