Pinson Valley High School graduate, Andrea Alvarado was recognized for her heroic actions during a May board meeting.
On March 20th of this year, Andrea witnessed a serious vehicle accident involving four of her classmates. Without hesitation, she jumped into action.
The Center Point Fire District shared this about her actions:
Andrea, who is dedicated to athletic training and plans to enter the medical field, witnessed the crash and immediately took action. She remained calm, assessed the situation, and provided care to the injured with professionalism and kindness far beyond her years. Her quick thinking and bravery turned a moment of crisis into one of hope.
Those who responded to the accident were so moved by her actions, they created a special Hero Award to honor her.
Dr. Gonsoulin said Andrea has shown us that heroism isn’t about age or title, it’s about stepping up when it matters most. He said the district is proud and knows this is just the beginning of her journey in the medical field.
