Welcome Back Message From Dr. Gonsoulin

We are excited to welcome students back to school on Friday!  My hope is that you had a joyous holiday season and a restful break.  I hope everyone comes back fresh and energized for the second semester.

Our teachers returned to school on January 2nd.  Part of that time has been spent engaging in professional development.  In addition to being strong teachers in the classroom, we also want our educators to be lifelong learners.  In the 30 plus years I’ve been in education, I have seen the evolution of standards and best practices.  This is a game that is always changing, and this training is vital to ensuring our educators are at their best.

For our students, I encourage you to look at Friday as a fresh start.  You can’t change what happened in the first semester, but remember our theme for this school year: where opportunity meets success.  Look at this semester as a new opportunity to either build on the success you’ve already achieved or grow in the areas where you need to improve.

I won’t make this a long letter.  I just wanted to express my excitement at getting our students back in class.  Don’t forget, report cards go out on January 11th and schools and offices will be closed on Monday, January 15th for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day.

Thanks and have a great semester!
