Shades Valley FBLA Students Win Big at State Conference!

The 2019 Alabama FBLA State Leadership Conference was held in Birmingham April 11-12.  The conference provides opportunities for students from across Alabama to compete in business-oriented activities. 

Shades Valley High School was recognized in several categories:

  • Largest state FBLA chapter
  • Largest district FBLA chapter
  • $1,500 donated to the March of Dimes

In addition, 18 students qualified to compete nationally at the FBLA National Leadership Conference in San Antonio, Texas this summer:

  • Amari Ford, 3rd place in 3D Animation
  • Raven Hildreth, 4th place in 3D Animation
  • Khoi Nguyen, 2nd place, Banking and Financial Systems
  • Cameron McDonald, Breia Thomas, and Kenneth Reese, 1st place in Business Ethics
  • Devin Davis and Hector Gutierrez, 1st place in Emerging Business Issues
  • Alexanderia Huggins, Roderick Jordan, and Annissa Owens, 3rd place in
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Gianni Steed and Talijah Wynn, 4th place in Entrepreneurship
  • Khalil Johnson, 3rd place in Global Business
  • Aryani Martinez and Michael Witherspoon, 3rd place in Management Decision Making
  • Chandlor Dobbs and Lydia Avant, 4th place in Social Media Campaign
