HMS Food Drive
HMS Student Council is supporting the Community Food Bank of Central Alabama with a can food drive. We are asking everyone to participate to beat hunger this holiday season. The suggested donated items are listed below. Boxes will be available to receive items in the main office lobby. We will receive items until November 17th. If you have any questions, see Ms. Woods.

HMS After School Tutoring
Tutoring will be facilitated this week on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 3:15PM-4:15PM. If you have any questions, contact Mrs. May.
Student ID Badges/Chromebooks
All HMS students will/have received an ID badge and chromebook. Parents, students are expected to have their ID badges and chromebooks daily. Per new district guidelines, once a student loses or damages his/her chromebook, a replacement will not be issued. Students will only be allowed to use a chromebook in the classroom. Parents may donate the price of the chromebook for replacement.
Bullying
Parents, HMS bullying reporting forms are available with our counselors. When a student notifies a teacher or staff member at HMS regarding bullying, the student will be directed to complete the bullying reporting form and submit it to their assigned counselor.

Reminders
**Students are expected to be dropped off and picked up on the side of the building, not the main entrance. Parents are to remain in their vehicles when dropping off and/or picking up students.
**Classes begin daily at 7:55AM.
**All check-outs must be facilitated by 2:30 PM daily
**Parents, deliveries and DoorDash are not allowed for students at Hueytown Middle School.
**All parent conferences are scheduled through the main office. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher(s), please contact Mrs. Davis in the main office.
Student Announcements
**Attention 7th-8th Graders: Boys and Girls Tennis tryouts will be Thursday Nov. 17th 3:15pm - 4:15pm at Bud Newell Tennis Courts. Sign up in Coach Smith's room 117 in the annex building. You must have a valid physical and dragonfly 100% complete in order to try-out
**Debate team will meet Monday, November 14th @ 3:15PM-4:15PM in RM 305
Monday, November 14th: HMS Basketball Teams will host McAdory MS @ HMS for competition play. Tipoff for the 1st game is @ 4:30PM. Students will NOT be allowed to remain on campus after dismissal to attend the game. Students must leave campus after school.
Tuesday, November 15th: HMS Debate Tournament @ Samford University, 3:30PM
Tuesday, November 15th: HMS Basketball Teams will travel to Minor MS for competition play. Tipoff for the 1st game will be @ 4:30PM
Wednesday, November 16th: HMS Softball Parent Meeting @ 5:30PM, RM 207
Thursday, November 17th: HMS Football Banquet, Brooklane Community Center @ 6:30PM
***November 21st-25th: All Jefferson County Schools will be closed
