COVID-19
***Updates***
COVID-19 positive students will follow these procedures:
- Must be isolated for at least 5 days after symptoms first appear or 5 days from the test date for asymptomatic individuals
- Must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications at the end of the 5 day period
- Improvement of all other symptoms
- Upon returning to school, the student must wear a mask for at least 5 days.
If the above criteria are not met, the student should isolate for the remaining five days.
Students who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not symptomatic should attend school.

Health Hero Flu Clinic
Health Hero Flu Clinic will be on campus at Hueytown Middle School September 13th. Parents, consent forms were distributed to students. If you would like for your child to receive a flu shot, please return consent forms to Nurse Childs by Friday, September 9th.
Student Daily Expectations
Parents, we have facilitated our grade level meetings this past week. We will begin enforcing expectations Monday, August 22nd. Students are expected to keep bookbags, purses, cellphones, and airpods in their lockers during the instructional school day. Students are allowed to go to their lockers between each class period. Students are expected to arrive on time to each class in addition to being in dress code.
HMS Annual Title One Meeting/Open House
Parents, we would like to invite you to our Annual Title One Meeting and Open House for this school year. We will review pertinent information relating to Title One and allow you to visit and meet with your child’s teachers. We will begin our general session @ 6PM in the competition gym. We look forward to seeing you on August 22nd.

Reminders
**Students are expected to be dropped off and picked up on the side of the building, not the main entrance. Parents are to remain in their vehicles when dropping off and/or picking up students.
**Classes begin daily at 7:55AM.
**All check-outs must be facilitated by 2:30 PM daily
**Parents, deliveries and DoorDash are not allowed for students at Hueytown Middle School.
**All parent conferences are scheduled through the main office. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher(s), please contact Mrs. Davis in the main office.
Student Announcements
**Attention 7th/8th Grade Boys: If you are interested in trying out for HMS Boys Basketball, please sign up with Coach Williams during PE August 22nd-26th. Tryouts will be September 23rd @ 3:15PM-5:15PM. You must have a current physical and a completed dragonfly account in order to tryout.
