COVID-19

***Updates***

COVID-19 positive students will follow these procedures:

  • Must be isolated for at least 5 days after symptoms first appear or 5 days from the test date for asymptomatic individuals

  • Must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications at the end of the 5 day period

  • Improvement of all other symptoms

  • Upon returning to school, the student must wear a mask for at least 5 days.

If the above criteria are not met, the student should isolate for the remaining five days.

Students who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not symptomatic should attend school.

4th Nine Weeks Common Assessment Testing Schedule 

*Students who are exempt from their common assessments due to iReady expectations will be excused from school the day of the exam only. Please review carefully the exam schedule. Teachers will be communicating with students regarding exemptions.

Reminders

**Students are expected to be dropped off and picked up on the side of the building, not the main entrance. Parents are to remain in their vehicles when dropping off and/or picking up students. 

**Classes begin daily at 7:55AM.

**All check-outs must be facilitated by 2:30 PM daily

**Parents, deliveries and DoorDash are not allowed for students at Hueytown Middle School. Your immediate attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. 

**All parent conferences are scheduled through the main office. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher(s), please contact Mrs. Davis in the main office. 

 

 

Student Announcements

**Attention Students: If you have money to turn into the office, please do so during 2nd period. 

 

Attention 6th & 7th Grade Boys:

Tryouts will be May 17th-18th @ 3:15PM-5:15PM in the competition gym. You must have a current physical in order to try out and be 100% cleared in Dragonfly. 

Attention Current 6th & 7th Grade Girls: 

HMS Volleyball tryouts will be May 16th-18th @ 3:30PM-5:30PM in the practice gym. You must be present on all days of tryouts. You must have a current physical, 100% cleared in Dragonfly, a ride home @ 5:30PM, and proper workout attire and shoes. See Coach Whitfield if you have any questions. 

Monday, May 16th: HMS EOY PBIS Faculty vs Student Basketball Game (see attachment for expectations)

Tuesday, May 17th: HMS Spring Band Concert @6:30PM, HHS Auditorium 

Thursday, May 19th: HMS 8th Grade Transition Ceremony @6PM. HHS Gymnasium 

Friday, May 20th: HMS 6th & 7th Grade EOY Awards Ceremony @9AM, HMS Gymnasium

May 18th-May 23rd: Chromebooks will be returned & Locker Cleanout (see attachment for schedule)
