Weekly Announcements - Week of 4/4 to 4/8




COVID-19 positive students will follow these procedures:

  • Must be isolated for at least 5 days after symptoms first appear or 5 days from the test date for asymptomatic individuals

  • Must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications at the end of the 5 day period

  • Improvement of all other symptoms

  • Upon returning to school, the student must wear a mask for at least 5 days.

If the above criteria are not met, the student should isolate for the remaining five days.

Students who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not symptomatic should attend school.

School Deliveries

Parents, deliveries and DoorDash are not allowed for students at Hueytown Middle School. Your immediate attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. 


3rd Nine Weeks Grade Recovery 

3rd Nine Weeks Grade Recovery will be facilitated April 4th-15th. Teachers will be communicating with students regarding the expectations for recovery. This is for core subjects only. We will be using iReady for 3rd Nine Weeks Grade Recovery. Parents, if you have questions regarding grade recovery, please communicate with your child’s teacher.

HMS Countdown to ACAP Testing

Parents, we have 5 instructional school days until ACAP testing. To assist our students prepare for ACAP, parents we need your help. Your child can work on the assigned interactive learning lessons in iReady each night. Thank you for partnering with us to improve the academic achievement of our students at Hueytown Middle School. If you have questions about the interactive lessons, please contact your child’s teacher. 


Parent Conferences

All parent conferences are scheduled through the main office. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher(s), please contact Mrs. Davis in the main office. 



**Students are expected to be dropped off and picked up on the side of the building, not the main entrance. Parents are to remain in their vehicles when dropping off and/or picking up students. 

**Classes begin daily at 7:55AM.

**All check-outs must be facilitated by 2:30 PM daily


Student Announcements

Attention 8th Grade Girls: HHS Basketball Tryouts will be April 11th-13th @ 3:30PM-6PM & Volleyball Tryouts will be April 21st-22nd @ 3:30PM-6PM @ HHS. You must be present each day of tryouts. All participants must have a current physical and be 100% clear in Dragonfly in order to try out. See Coach Whitfield if you have any questions. 

Monday, April 4th: HMS Baseball vs Bragg, 5PM (Bud Newell)/HMS Softball @ Corner, 5PM

Wednesday, April 6th : HMS Baseball vs Homewood MS, 4:30PM (HHS)/HMS Softball @ Oak Grove, 5PM

Thursday, March 24th: HMS Track Meet @ Center Point HS, 3:30PM/HMS Softball @ Sumiton, 5PM
