Weekly Announcements - Week of 3/21 to 3/25




COVID-19 positive students will follow these procedures:

  • Must be isolated for at least 5 days after symptoms first appear or 5 days from the test date for asymptomatic individuals

  • Must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications at the end of the 5 day period

  • Improvement of all other symptoms

  • Upon returning to school, the student must wear a mask for at least 5 days.

If the above criteria are not met, the student should isolate for the remaining five days.

Students who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not symptomatic should attend school.

3rd Nine Weeks Report Cards 

3rd Nine Weeks Report Cards will be emailed to parents via PowerSchool on Tuesday, March 22nd @3PM.


After-School Tutoring

This week will conclude after-school tutoring. The last day of after-school tutoring is Thursday,  March 24th. 


HMS Countdown to ACAP Testing

Parents, we have 10 instructional school days until ACAP testing. To assist our students prepare for ACAP, parents we need your help. Your child can work on the assigned interactive learning lessons in iReady each night. Thank you for partnering with us to improve the academic achievement of our students at Hueytown Middle School. If you have questions about the interactive lessons, please contact your child’s teacher. 


School Deliveries

Parents, deliveries and DoorDash are not allowed for students at Hueytown Middle School. Your immediate attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. 


Parent Conferences

All parent conferences are scheduled through the main office. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher(s), please contact Mrs. Davis in the main office. 



**Students are expected to be dropped off and picked up on the side of the building, not the main entrance. Parents are to remain in their vehicles when dropping off and/or picking up students. 

**Classes begin daily at 7:55AM.

**All check-outs must be facilitated by 2:30 PM daily

***Attention 6th & 7th Graders: If you are interested in trying out for HMS Cheer, there will be a mandatory parent meeting March 23rd @ 5:30PM in the competition gym.

Tuesday, March 22nd: HMS Baseball @Homewood MS, 4:30PM/HMS Track Meet @Corner HS, 3:30PM

Thursday, March 24th: HMS Softball vs Rudd MS, 5PM (Natalie Bunn Field)

Friday, March 25th: HMS Baseball vs Leeds (@HHS), 5PM

*****Spring Break will be March 28th-April 1st. All Jefferson County Schools will be closed.
