Weekly Announcements - Week of 2/22 to 2/25

COVID-19

***Updates***

COVID-19 positive students will follow these procedures:

  • Must be isolated for at least 5 days after symptoms first appear or 5 days from the test date for asymptomatic individuals
  • Must be fever-free for at least 24 hours without the use of fever-reducing medications at the end of the 5 day period
  • Improvement of all other symptoms
  • Upon returning to school, the student must wear a mask for at least 5 days.

If the above criteria are not met, the student should isolate for the remaining five days.

Students who have not tested positive for COVID-19 or are not symptomatic should attend school.

Parent Surveys

Parents, we need your feedback. We are in the process of conducting an evaluation of our Title I Parent and Family Engagement Program, and we would like to know what you think. Please take a few minutes to complete this survey. The responses will be used to improve next year’s Parent and Family Engagement program at Hueytown Middle School. If you have questions about the survey or need assistance, please contact our main office. Your answers are confidential.The deadline to complete the survey is March 8th.

School Deliveries

Parents, deliveries and DoorDash are not allowed for students at Hueytown Middle School. Your immediate attention to this matter is greatly appreciated. 

 

2022-2023 Course Selection Meetings

All course selection sheets must be returned by February 25th. 

 

Parent Conferences

All parent conferences are scheduled through the main office. If you would like to schedule a conference with your child’s teacher(s), please contact Mrs. Davis in the main office. 

 

Reminders

**Students are expected to be dropped off and picked up on the side of the building, not the main entrance. Parents are to remain in their vehicles when dropping off and/or picking up students. 

**Classes begin daily at 7:55AM.

**All check-outs must be facilitated by 2:30 PM daily

 

Student Announcements

***Attention 8th Graders: If you are interested in trying out for HHS Cheer or Mascot, there will be a mandatory parent meeting March 1st @ HHS, 6PM. 

***Attention 6th & 7th Graders: If you are interested in trying out for HMS Cheer, there will be a mandatory parent meeting March 23rd @ 5:30PM in the competition gym. 

Wednesday, February 23rd: HMS Tennis Team will play @ Corner MS, 3:30PM

Thursday, February 24th: HMS Baseball @ Pelham MS, 5PM

Thursday, February 24th: HMS Softball vs North Jefferson, 5PM

Friday, February 25th: HMS Baseball @ Corner MS, 5PM

Friday, February 25th: HMS Softball @ Thompson Classic Tournament
