Weekly Announcements - Week of 8/30 to 9/3


As we continue to navigate through COVID-19 pandemic, parents, we need your assistance with ensuring safety for all of HMS faculty, staff and students. If someone in your home has tested positive for COVID-19, please contact our main office and follow the exclusion guidelines by keeping your child at home. If your child has been tested for COVID-19 and is awaiting results, contact our main office and keep your child at home until results have been provided. Also parents, if you have been contacted by the school regarding your child being exposed, please adhere to the exclusion guidelines. Parents, please contact Nurse Childs regarding COVID-19 related self quarantining. COVID-19 related absences are only provided if parents have contacted Nurse Childs and we have documented the COVID-19 absence. If you have any specific questions, please contact our main office. 


**Parents, please email your child’s teachers for make-up assignments if he/she is excluded from school due to COVID-19 exposure. 




**All students, employees, and visitors must wear a mask while on campus during the school day.

**Students are expected to be dropped off and picked up on the side of the building, not the main entrance. Parents are to remain in their vehicles when dropping off and/or picking up students. 

**Classes begin daily at 7:55AM.

**All check-outs must be facilitated by 2:30 PM daily

**All HMS Athletic Events will use Go Fan for purchasing tickets. Instructions are attached. 


Student Announcements

Hueytown Middle School Homecoming Week will be August 30th-September 2nd.  Watch our school’s website and Facebook for the dress up days!  Be prepared to help your Pod/Team decorate for the Battle of the Pods!!! Homecoming Court will be announced on Monday, August 30 and the Queen, King, Princesses, and Princes will be announced during halftime at the Homecoming game on Sept 2! 

Hueytown Middle School Homecoming Week Dress up days are as follows: 

Monday - Bright out the Spartans -  (wear your bright colors or Tie-dye clothing)

Tuesday - Tack down the Spartans (wear your tacky outfit)

Wednesday - Let’s go to war against the Spartans  ( wear your Army Fatigue clothing)

Thursday - Spirit Day (HMS/Homecoming shirt) 

Friday -  Rest up for next year! (wear your PJ’s )

*All dress up days must comply with student dress code expectations!


Attention 7th & 8th Grade Boys: HMS Baseball tryouts will be Sept. 17th @ 3:30PM, Bud Newell. See Coach Carrell if you have any questions. In order to tryout, you must have completed requirements in DragonFly.

Monday, August 30th: HMS Volleyball @ Oak Grove HS, 4:30PM

Wednesday, September 1st: HMS Volleyball vs Erwin/Corner MS @ 4:30PM, HMS Gymnasium

Thursday, September 2nd: HMS Football vs Pleasant Grove @ 6PM, HHS
