Weekly Announcements - Week of 12/14
COVID-19
As COVID-19 cases are on the rise, parents, we need your assistance with ensuring safety for all of HMS faculty, staff and students. If someone in your home has tested positive for COVID-19, please contact our main office and follow the quarantine guidelines by keeping your child at home. If your child has been tested for COVID-19 and is awaiting results, please keep your child at home until results have been provided. Also parents, if you have been contacted by the school regarding your child being exposed, please adhere to the quarantine guidelines. If you have any specific questions, please contact our school’s nurse, Nurse Morris.
Devices
Parents, we are requesting for all students to use a school issued device. If your child does not have a school issued device, please contact Mrs. Burkholder as soon as possible so arrangements can be made to issue a device.
Device Inventory
Parents, in order to have accurate inventory information, we are requesting all students complete the device inventory form linked below. This process should not take long to complete. The deadline to complete is past due. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Burkholder.

Hot Spots
Parents, We are excited to announce that we have received a number of hotspots from the Alabama Broadband Connectivity for Students Program. We still have several hotspots that have not been picked up. The deadline to pick up hot spots is Tuesday, December 15th. Parents, if you would like for your child to pick up the hot spot, they will need to see Mrs. Burkholder in the library to pick it up. If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Burkholder.
1st Nine Weeks Grade Recovery Opportunity
Attention Parents: Students who failed a subject 1st nine weeks will have the opportunity to participate in grade recovery via Edmentum. Letters have been distributed to students and parents regarding the expectations of recovering the failing grade. If you have any questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
Student Dress Code
*Jeans with open holes above the knee are not allowed
*No halter-tops, spaghetti strap tops. Midriff tops, or overly revealing shirts
*Leggings and jeggins are allowed only if you have appropriate clothing over them that meet the dress code policy
*Skirts and dresses must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee
