Weekly Announcements - Week of 11/9
As COVID cases are on the rise around the United States, parents please partner with us and continue the conversations about social distancing, handwashing, and masks. Parents, if any one at your home has tested positive for COVID-19, please communicate with us and keep your child at home and follow the quarantine guidelines. Also parents, if your child is experiencing COVID-19 related symptoms, please keep your child at home. If you have specific questions, contact Nurse Morris.
*Parents, as a reminder, you are not allowed to participate in direct instruction, via WebEx. This includes being on the camera and/or making comments in the chat box. If you have questions, please contact your child’s teacher.
*Parents, we will be closely monitoring attendance of our remote and traditional learners. Parents, if you selected for your child to be a traditional learner and the student is not coming to school, it will be marked as an unexcused absence. Also parents, if you selected for your child to be a remote learner and he/she is not logging in, they will be marked as an unexcused absence. We will begin monitoring for truancy for unexcused absences. Beginning 2nd Nine Weeks, we will be accounting for tardies to class. Students have 5 minutes to arrive to class. Three unexcused tardies will be referred to an administrator for disciplinary consequences. If you have a question regarding attendance, please contact our main office.
Parents, school will begin @ 7:55AM. All checkouts must be completed by 2:30PM daily.
Any student that was issued a ThinkPad laptop needs to bring it back to the school with the charger as soon as possible. We will be switching out all ThinkPads for new Chromebooks. Please see Mrs. Burkholder as soon as possible. Again, we need this to take place immediately.
Student Dress Code
*Jeans with open holes above the knee are not allowed
*No halter-tops, spaghetti strap tops. Midriff tops, or overly revealing shirts
*Leggings and jeggins are allowed only if you have appropriate clothing over them that meet the dress code policy
*Skirts and dresses must be no shorter than 4 inches above the knee

Attention 7th & 8th Boys: HMS Tennis Tryouts will beTuesday November 17th @3:30pm - 4:30pm at Bud Newell Tennis Courts. Anyone trying out must be 100% complete in dragonfly. See Coach Smith if you have any questions.
Wednesday, November 11th
All Jefferson County Schools and Offices will be closed in observance of Veteran’s Day
Thursday, November 12th
1st Nine Weeks Award’s Day will be facilitated in HMS Cafe’. All recipients may attend the awards day and parents will be able to participate remotely.
HMS Basketball Teams will host Pleasant Grove @ HHS. Tipoff will be @ 4:30PM.
