Graduation Ceremony Postponed

Due to the threat of inclement weather the graduation ceremony scheduled for this evening is postponed.  We are currently working with all parties involved to reschedule the ceremony.   We will send a school cast with a new date on Thursday morning.
We apologize for the inconvenience but public safety is our ultimate concern. We have been in touch with public and local officials.  GHS class of 2020 we look forward to celebrating with you soon.

To Gardendale Seniors and Parents:

On Wednesday, May 27, 2020 at 7 p.m. Gardendale High School will hold a graduation ceremony for the class of 2020 at Driver Stadium.

All guests should enter through the main gate with their graduate. Gates will open at 6:00 p.m. The number of guests per graduate will be limited to a maximum of 4.

All graduates must report to the stadium by 6:45 p.m. Once they have entered the stadium, the graduate should report directly to the field. On the field they will find their names clearly posted on their seats. Guests of the graduate may then report to the bleachers to be seated and enjoy the ceremony. At that time graduates will be given instructions on processional, recessional, and ceremony proceedings. For guest seating, there will be designated social distancing markers on the home side bleachers.

All graduates will be required to wear a mask(provided by GHS), except while being photographed receiving their diploma. Due to social distancing of 6 feet, GHS will not be able to supply golf cart service. Handicap accessible ramp to seating is located on the GHS Field house end of Driver Stadium.

Please remember to maintain all social distancing practices suggested by CDC, Governor’s Office and JCDH. Jefferson County Sheriff Deputies will be on hand to assist in the monitoring of social distancing and traffic.

If you do not plan to or are unable to attend the ceremony please email Mrs Kearney at
