Mr. Michael Turner, a successfully recognized principal, has garnered the reputation of being a "turnaround" leader within the schools he has served as principal. Mr. Turner is entering his 26th year as a professional educator with 18 years of experience as a school administrator. He has served as a high school teacher/ coach, high school assistant principal, and a middle school principal. Mr. Turner is entering his 10th year as principal at Pinson Valley High School.
Mr. Turners' ability to be a strong, effective leader while recognizing and nurturing the importance of his staff makes him an outstanding educator and principal. He has a heart for making a difference in the lives of children and is passionate about effecting change, not only at Pinson Valley High School, but also in the community and nation. The respect Mr. Turner has earned from parents, teachers, staff, and colleagues is indicative of his professional approach and inclusive leadership style. Mr. Turner is known for devoting countless hours and giving extensively of his time to instruction, leadership, and to the vision of his school.
Mr. Turner is a product of public schools. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in social studies from Miles College in Fairfield, Alabama. Subsequently, he earned his Master of Education degree in Educational Administration and Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama.
