School Profile
Our School
Minor Middle School was established in 1971 as Bottenfield Junior High School serving grades 7-9. In 2001, in changing to a middle school model, the building was expanded and we began serving grades 6-8 as Bottenfield Middle School. Now, in 2016, we begin a new, exciting chapter as Minor Middle School.
Minor Middle School is the only school in the Jefferson County School District with a Health Sciences Program. We are also one of only two Project Lead the Way middle schools in the district that offer a mechanical and software engineering program through Robotics. Our award-winning band program and our outstanding athletics offerings contribute to a well-rounded education for our students.
Minor Middle School is committed to preparing self-disciplined and independent lifelong learners by collaboratively working with students, parents, and the community. It is our mission to provide effective teaching and learning by implementing best practices through meaningful, rigorous learning experiences for all students with diverse needs.
