Hello!

I am Dr. Shonta Harrell and it is my pleasure to serve as the Assistant Principal at Irondale Community and Minor Community School.  I am a native of Montgomery, AL. I have a daughter named Lake and a sweet pup named Rocky.  I enjoy learning, traveling, and helping others. This begins my 14th year in the field of education.  I have served as a classroom teacher, interventionist, district teacher mentor,  and professional development resource teacher. I hold the following degrees:

• Bachelors in Early Childhood/ Elem. Education- Auburn University Montgomery, 2009

• Masters in Elementary Education- Auburn University Montgomery, 2014

• Masters in Instructional Leadership- Auburn University Montgomery, 2016

• Doctorate in Educational Leadership, Policy and Law- Alabama State University, 2019

I have been in Jefferson County for the past 2 years and I have enjoyed every second.  I look forward to continuing working in such a dynamic school district. I am also looking forward to an amazing school year and serving those in the learning environment as we embark on this journey.
