Our Library

Welcome to the McCalla Elementary School Library!

The McCalla Elementary School Library serves over 750 students in grades Pre-K through 5.  We have a small but growing collection of books and resources to meet the diverse needs of all our learners. Our collection includes materials for students and teachers including a makerspace cart filled with fun, educational activities available for classroom checkout.

Students checkout books every other week and may keep their books for up to 14 days. Students in 2nd-5th grade may check out up to 2 books at a time, while 1st grade may check out 1 book each time.

Library lessons include:

  • What is a library

  • Book care

  • Parts of a Book

  • Library Organization

  • Fiction vs. Nonfiction

  • Genres

  • Research Skills

If you have a suggestion you would like to see added to our collection, please fill out the Suggestions Form located in the Links section of our page.
