Safety Patrol is an organization of students that help keep McAdory a safe environment. This is a great opportunity for responsible fifth grade students to develop leadership skills. In order to be selected as a member, students need to be dependable, responsible, display excellent conduct, and maintain at least a “B” average in all classes.

Student Council assist in being the voice for all the students in a school. Student Council assist with school projects and community projects. Students interested in being a part of McAdory Elementary Student Council had to complete an application. Students had to write an essay as to why they wanted to be a part of Student Council, get teacher's approval and participate in an interview. We have officers and class representatives. The officers are president, vice president, secretary and recorder. Student Council members work on school projects that our students are concerned about. Second through Fifth grade classrooms have a student council boxes where students may write any concerns they have. The majority of our MES students appear to be concerned about the bathrooms. Therefore, Student Council has created posters with rules that will be hung in the bathrooms over Christmas Break. Community projects have centered around "Socktober" where we collected socks for those in need, and also meeting at Plantation Manor one time per month. Student Council meet at Plantation Manor and spend quality time with those living there; this is strictly on a volunteer basis. At Plantation Manor, student council members do arts and crafts and read to the patients. Future projects will be a legacy project for our school.
