Track and Field

Center Point High School Track teams consist of over 80 runners, throwers, and jumpers. With Center Point student-athletes, Coach Wilson has built a winning tradition that begins with hard work, consistency, and humility. We have graduated hundreds of successful students that are now productive members of society today. We currently have 8 alumni competing at the collegiate level, we are the 5-times Jefferson County Track and Field Champions, and have earned more gold and silver state medals in the last 15 years than any other Jefferson County or Birmingham City School. We aim to change lives even more through “Great Attitudes, Great Academics, and Great Athletics”.

Mr. Preston Wilson

Coach Preston Wilson is a 19-year educator and has coached track and field at Erwin/ Center Point High School for 15 years. During Coach Wilson’s tenure at Center Point High School, 38 of the 40 boys' track school records have been set, and 33 of the 36 girls' track school records have been set.Team accomplishments during Coach Wilson's tenure at Center Point High School include countless Cross Country Jefferson County Championships, 5 XC Sectional Championships, 2 Indoor Track final four finishes, countless Jefferson County Outdoor Championships, 3 Sectional Championship Runners-up, and 2 State Championship final four finishes.
