After completing the fourth year at Center Point High School, the CPHS Football Team has made four consecutive playoff appearances for the first time in over 20 years.  This includes making the Quarterfinals in two of those years.  The 2021-2022 team, which is the Class of 2022, was special because it was our first graduating class and they never had a losing record. These four years have included multiple all state, all region and all city players, including 12 players being awarded athletic scholarships to college.  


We are in the off-season Strength and Conditioning phase of our program, which is 5 days a week.  Our weekly progress reports help to ensure our scholars' athletes stay on track with their academics.  We are also in our Character Education program, concluding the week each and every Friday.  This Wednesday we have been asked to be the guest speaker at Erwin Middle School's Black History Program and on Thursday we will be reading at Erwin Intermediate School's Reading Across America.  

In our program, our standard is 3C's; give your best in the Classroom, Community and in Competition and our Culture is being real and relatable to everyone.  This is concluding my 20th year as an educator and 10th as a Head Football Coach.  I truly believe academics are first and we keep the main thing the main thing in our daily process towards success individually and collectively in our program.  Fun fact: I am an avid reader.

Spring Practice starts May 9th, concluding with the Spring Game at Southside Gadsden on May 20th, 7pm.
