AHSAA Regional Cheer Competition
Please find attached the AHSAA Regional Cheer Competition final schedule. The competition is on November 9, 2023 at the Birmingham Crossplex. We are number 68 on the schedule of teams that will be competing for this region.
We will need a ride at 11:30 am to the Crossplex. Parents will be responsible for picking up cheerleaders following the competition. We are in the Varsity Co-Ed division this year. If we meet the qualifying score we will go to state competition on either December 11th or 12th.
We have a selected competition team competing this year and are excited for the chance of placing higher than we did last year.
Thanks in advance.

Highlights
Varsity Team
Our Varsity team received first place trophies in the Co-Ed division for their Camp Routine and Game Day Routine. Our team received superior awards for Best overall cheer and Game Day performance. The team received the Leadership Award plaque for being the team that every team at camp wanted to be a part of if they were not on their team.
Junior Varsity Team
Our JV team was awarded second place in Game Day and Superior award for being the most improved JV team at camp this year.
Both teams won the spirit banana on the second day of camp for demonstrating great sportsmanship and having a lot of spirit the entire day. Our days began at 7:30 am and ended at 8:30 pm. Coach Westbrook and I nominated seven cheerleaders for All-American which is the top honor at camp. These seven cheerleaders competed against over 40 other cheerleaders in a dance, cheer and jump showcase. Three of the seven were selected as All-American and have a chance to cheer during Thanksgiving Break at Disney World with cheerleaders from all over the United States.
Nominees were: Sanaa Lee, Nadia Portis, Shelton Richardson, Morgan Escott Holmes, Ayana Clark, Tamira Carter (JV) and Zariyah Jones (JV).
All-American winners: Sanaa Lee, Ayana Clark and Zariyah Jones
We are so very proud of the hard work both teams displayed at camp.
Congratulations to the 2023 – 2024 Center Point High School Varsity and Junior Varsity Cheerleaders!
