Bryan Elementary Counseling
Welcome to Bryan Elementary School's Counseling Program!
During the school year, students typically spend 30 minutes per week with their class in the counseling classroom discussing various topics. Topics include:
Bullying
Friendships
Conflict resolution
Grief and loss
Divorce
Team building
Special Counseling Services include:
• Individual time when students experience critical issues with school or family
• Community service projects (including can foods drive, clothing drive, pet food drive, etc.)
• Christmas Vision program (this program provides gifts to students/families in need)
• Burkett Buddies (4th and 5th grade students visit with special needs students at the Burkett Center)
Meet the Counselor:
My Name is Jimmy Warren, I am the Bryan School Counselor and I have been at Bryan since 2006! My undergraduate degree is from The University of Alabama and my graduate degree is from UAB. Before becoming an elementary school counselor, I worked in various settings including working with mentally ill adults, therapeutic foster children, as well as an internship with the Department of Human Resources.
I also have 2 children, I love to be outdoors including mountain biking, traveling as well as camping. I live in Homewood and my family attends All Saints Episcopal Church.
